Tomas Vera for Assembly District 1 Delegate

I am running to be a delegate to the California Democratic State Central Committee  representing Assembly District 1.

I am a current delegate for this district and am running for re-election. As a delegate, I was fortunate to have been appointed to the Voter Services standing committee of the California Democratic Party (CDP) where I contributed to CDP efforts to ensure that every eligible voter is able to cast a ballot. I have been able to participate in the Conventions and Executive Board meetings where I have been able to establish friendships and alliances with other delegates and CDP Party Leaders. This participation has allowed me to advocate for various issues affecting our North State.

During the 2018 election cycle, I also contributed in a more boots-on-the-ground manner to congressional campaigns in CD1 and CD4. I am proud to say that I knocked on over 800 doors in support of our Congressional and Assembly candidates. I also participated in phone-banks and text-banks emphasizing outreach to Latinos as well as other Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts.

I am the new Chair of the Placer County Democratic Central Committee (DCC). I represent Placer County’s 5th Supervisory district which encompasses the Eastern part of Placer County.

I’m a life-long California resident, born and raised in Mendocino and Sonoma Counties. I graduated from Sonoma State University as a physicist. I am married to a wonderful woman and we have been blessed with three loving children. As you may have seen elsewhere on this site, I am a veteran of the United States Navy and currently work as a computer professional.

My goals for our party include:

  • Address our lack of affordable housing across our state and especially in our region
  • Promote policies to provide education and/or training to residents that will allow them to prosper here in our area
  • Move toward enacting a single payer solution to our healthcare crisis
  • Raise awareness and garner support for efforts to bring high-speed internet to our rural areas

I humbly ask for your vote on January 13, 2019 at the ADEM elections taking place on that date.

I am honored to have received ENDORSEMENTS from people whom I respect deeply.
